These alarms, which are powered by a single 9V PP3 alkaline battery, are suited for all situations where Deaf and Hard of Hearing people require early warning of a fire outbreak, while also giving a strong auditory alarm for those with good hearing. Ionisation, optical, and heat alarms with audible sounders are suitable for all household contexts..
If you need smoke detection in a kitchen or laundry environment we recommend the Silent Alert Heat Detector available here
Ionisation alarms respond quickly to fire and should be used upstairs.
Optical alarms detect larger smoke particles and can be used downstairs or near to a kitchen and are less susceptible to false alarms.
